Details
The course on radiation safety is primarily directed to the safety of workers,members of the public and the environment by emphasising aspects of radiation protection, in line with the requirement of the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984.
The increasing use of ionising radiation in various sectors - industry, medical,manufacturing, agriculture and research - demands a comprehensive implementation of the Atomic Energy Licensing Act which requires all those involved with the use of ionising
radiation to have a Radiation Protection Officer and properly trained radiation workers.
This one day course is specially designed to create the awareness on the radiation needs of special attention to the radiation safety in order to protect the safety of workers, public and the environment
OBJECTIVES
- To provide basic understanding of the philosophy and principles of radiation protection
- To generate the awareness on the risks and effects of ionising radiation
- To improve knowledge of safety awareness

PARTICIPANTS
All level of personnel and those who are interested and involved in the use of
ionising radiation.
Participants from small and medium enterprise (SME) are only required to pay 30% of the course fees. The other 70% will be funded from SME Corp’s Skill Advancement Programme.

Established in 1972, Nuclear Malaysia is a national research centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI). The main function of Nuclear Malaysia is to introduce and promote the use of nuclear and related technologies for national socio economic development.
