INTRODUCTION FOR FOUNDATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT
This program is designed for working professionals, with the objectives of improving participants’ skills in a condensed teaching period and allowing participants to obtain a professional qualification quickly and conveniently.
This is a practical, hands-on course which develops a better decision-making process and risk-based approaches to managing risk. The course is targeted toward those who are currently looking into equipping themselves with the fundamental of risk due to being assigned to either the head or part of the risk department team members. The Professional Diploma in Risk Management will empower participants with the foundations necessary to lead high-performing teams and achieve effective risk management advocacy within the organization.

  • The course is meant to provide clarity and insights into when, where, how and who risk management would be of use and why.

This module is designed to give an overview of the concept of risk. Many may have different understandings and perceptions of what risk is and in this module, the participant will be able to distinguish the ambiguity and begin to have clarity on the definition and standards of measure when it comes to knowing what be considered as risk.
 
Module 2: How to Manage Risk?
  • Sub-Module 2-1: What Is Risk Management?
  • Sub-Module 2-2: Risk Management Process
  • Sub-Module 2-3: Risk Assessment
  • Sub-Module 2-4: 6 Simple Questions’ Rule
This module will show what is risk management and how to manage it in their capacity as either risk owner, risk champion, or even the measure owner. The risk management process can be daunting and the module aimed to show the most effective and simple ways, yet achieving meaningful results.
 
Module 3: Why is Managing Risk Important?
  • Sub-Module 3-1: Why Bother?
  • Sub-Module 3-2: Threat or Opportunities?
  • Sub-Module 3-3: Risk & Non-Risk
The importance of managing risk may be blurred by the need of producing risk registers to satisfy the need for reporting and very little in making any significant decisions on what would be considered as the real threat to the business or organisation. Therefore this module is important to have the best understanding of what those risks are, and how important it is to manage them.

  • Sub-Module 5-2: Type of Communication Channels
  • Sub-Module 5-3: Engagement by Design
Facilitation is key in any collaboration and this is not new in risk management. This module would give the participant the best way to use different channels of communication for different purposes, although the main goal is still the embedment of risk awareness and risk culture within the organization.
 
Module 6: Decision-Making & Managing Changes
  • Sub-Module 6-1: Unknown to Known
  • Sub-Module 6-2: Change Management
  • Sub-Module 6-3: Roles and Responsibilities as decision-makers
This module will unravel the correlation between the decision-making process and being the catalyst for change. It also explains the need of knowing your roles and responsibilities within the organisation regardless of rank.
 
Module 7: Risk Culture
  • 7-1: What is Risk Culture & Why it is Important?
  • 7-2: Risk Awareness Internalisation
  • 7-3: Implementation Journey of Risk Culture
This module would be a critical part whereby you will be learning what makes a risk culture and what can influence culture to go either way, positive or negative. In this module, you will be able to learn how to apply the ABC of risk culture in the organization.
