Working in Confined Space is an activity that can expose a person to a very risky situation which can cause injury to HEALTH,ACCIDENTandDEATH. Statistics have shown many fatalities involving workers working in confined space such as silos, hopper, vessel, tank sewer system or trenches. In most cases the cause of death is due to inhaling of toxic gases or oxygen deficiency.

At the end of this session you will be able to:

• Understand the requirement of the law and code of practice on safe work in confined space activities;
• Understand the hazards of confined space;
• Understand the requirement of confined space entry;
• Understand the rules & responsibilities of Authorised Entrant and Standby Person when entering a confined space;
• Be competent worker as an Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) upon passing the exam.

• Legislation requirement (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 & ICOP 2010)

Module 2: Hazards in Confined Space

• Hazards of confined space
• Modes, sign or symptoms
• Consequences of exposure to hazards

Module 3: Entry Procedure & Equipment

• The steps of procedures for entry
• Fire watch and rescue services
• PPE
• Gas Detectors
• Breathing Apparatus
• Emergency Retrieval Equipment

Demonstration – Equipment

Quality and consistency of the training are the most important factors in assuring high quality of instructions. MIFFA trainers are fully qualified in respective training fields, and have extensive experiences in their  relevant areas.

MIFFA will make available our most experience and competent trainers. An assistant trainer will assist in the course where necessary. It should be noted that MIFFA reserves the right to replace the assigned trainer with the other equally competent trainer depending on their availability
