Businesses, social entrepreneurs, and other innovators have used human-centered design for decades to create solutions for many different types of challenges. This workshop will teach you the human-centered design process so you can be more people-centric when problem solving.

This Design Thinking workshop is designed with a group-guided learning structure, which means that you and your team of two to six people will be learning the human centered design process together.

This Design Thinking workshop is an invitation to experiment with the process of design. Let it inspire you to approach challenges differently and experience how human-centered design can add a new perspective and dimension to your work.

Outline

Module 1: Introduction to Human Centered Design

  • Why design-driven companies have a strategic advantage
  • Customer-centricity vs tech-driven innovation
  • Understand how to create value for our customers
  • How design principles improve success rate of innovation

Module 2: Discovery Phase

  • Discover phase of the human-centered design process. 
  • Design methods that will help you gain a deeper understanding of the needs of various stakeholders in your community or work.


Module 3: Ideate Phase

  • Ideate phase of the human-centered design process. 
  • Tansforms your Discover research into meaningful insights 
  • Generating new ideas via the brainstorming process, which will encourage you to think expansively and without constraints.

Module 4: Prototype Phase

  • Create prototypes that might include: models, mock-ups, diagrams, interactions, and role play. Prototyping is not about getting it right the first time: the best prototypes change significantly over time. As part of the class 4 workshop,
  • Take the best ideas that you brainstormed and make them tangible as quickly as possible. You’ll then test your ideas in the community, getting real feedback and further improving and refining your ideas until you get them right.

Module 5: Moving Forward

  • Distill and communicate your idea to internal or external stakeholders, reflect on what you learned over the seven weeks and how you can take it forward into your daily work.
  • Based upon feedback that your team received during module 4, your team may want to refine your prototypes and make a final prototype presentation to share online should you choose to do so

In Design Thinking, Elton have graduated with HPI School of Design Thinking and conducted challenges for UKM Dentistry, and helped Police for ‘Talk To Us’ Program. He have also participated in challenge for IDEO (a premier design thinking organization in the world) for End Of Life Challenge which attracted more than 5,000 submission of solutions and stories which were done using design thinking methodology.

Elton has shared his thoughts on publications such as Asian Entrepreneur Magazine, Jumpstart Magazine Hong Kong, Social Media Polis USA, Global Yuppie Lifestyle USA, E27 Singapore and Next Up Asia on his perspective and market outlook.

He has co-authored and published a book in Singapore titled ‘Are You Ready To Be Next Entrepreneur’ which the book has been reviewed by world personalities such as Professor Jeffrey Sachs, world-renowned professor of economics and Asian Number 1 motivator ‘Miss Merry Riana’ and other reputable entrepreneurs.
