Details

Radiation is extremely hazardous to human body. For this reason, its application is subjected to very stringent rules and regulations imposed by the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB).  AELB requires all RPO, RPS, Radiation Workers, and New Radiation Workers not only must be trained initially, but also to continuously refresh their knowledge in the subject after from time to time.

This course is designed to facilitate retraining of RPO, RPS, radiation workers and any person who wish to become radiation workers using syllabus approved by the AELB.  In addition, the course is also suitable for Radiation Protection Officers and Radiation Protection Supervisors for renewal of their RPO certificates. The course is granted with 17 CEP points by the AELB (a minimum of 15 CEP points is required for a year extension).

  • DR ABD NASSIR BIN IBRAHIM (A.M.N) (Ph.D in Metallurgy)

With more than 35 years of accumulated experience in NDT industry, he is one of the few holders of Level 3 Certificate in all techniques in NDT (Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Radiography and Ultrasonic). Having spent most of his days in Malaysia Nuclear Agency as a scientist, inspector and a lecturer, he is considered as the pioneer for the establishment of the National NDT Certification Scheme in Malaysia. 

He was also the Director of Industrial Technology Department in Malaysia Nuclear Agency during his service in Malaysia Nuclear Agency before his retirement on 26th November 2014. In addition, he was once appointed by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) to become a prestigious NDT Technical Officer. Starting in 2000, he was selected as Malaysian Society of NDT (MSNT) President and holds the position until now. During his days as IAEA Technical Officer, he has introduced Malaysia to as one of the training destination for members of NDT community from developing member states. He himself was frequently chosen by IAEA to undertake expert missions in the area of NDT in more than 40 countries around the world. Dr. Abd. Nassir was also elected as one of the Board Directors of Asian Pacific Federation for Non-Destructive Testing Societies (APFNDT) representing Malaysia and other members around the region. Recently in May 2018, he was voted as TOKOH MAHIR PERDANA MENTERI 2018 to honour his countless contribution for the country, especially in developing NDT Certification Scheme for Malaysia.

  • DR KHAZALI BIN MD ZIN (Ph.D in NDT (Ultrasonic))

Dr. Khazali Hj Mohd Zin is former staff of the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM). He spent the whole of 28 years professional life with this Institute. His expertise was in the field of NDT and considered among the few Malaysians who hold level 3 SKM-NDT certificates in all NDT methods. His position as the Manager of NDT Group in SIRIM has given him a lot of exposure in the application of NDT technology in various industries. During his tenure in SIRIM he was also appointed as the Chairman of NDT Technical Committee responsible for the development of NDT Standards in Malaysia. In addition he was also appointed as the Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee for NDT under The Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Manpower Development. Throughout his 28 years of experience in SIRIM, he has contributed to hundreds of hours of teaching in NDT, especially in the area of ultrasonic at the national as well as the international level. In addition, he was also involved heavily in various consultancy work that involved NDT in various engineering works. He represents Malaysia in various international events such as Consultation on Establishing NDT Testing System for Trinidad and Tobago, International Conference in NDT (Shanghai, China), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) (Moscow, Russia) Meeting and various others.

  • DR AZALI BIN MUHAMMAD (Ph.D in Metallurgy)

Working alongside Dr. Abd. Nassir with more than 35 years of experience in NDT, he is also one of the few holders of Level 3 Certificate in all NDT Techniques (Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Radiography and Ultrasonic). He is also one of the big contributors in establishing NDT Certification Scheme in Malaysia. He contributed a lot in the establishment of NDT training facilities in Malaysia Nuclear Agency. Apart from his contribution towards the development of NDT in Malaysia, he was also seen as a person with a good deal of expertise in the area of material science in Malaysia. He was once appointed as Manager of the Training Department as well as the Manager of Material Science Team at the Malaysia Nuclear Agency. His involvement with NDT provided him with hundreds of hours in teaching experience in methods related to NDT. In additional to that, he was also several time appointed by IAEA to undertake expert missions in various countries.
