Basic First Aid is the next step into first aid after the introductory course. It aims to give a more comprehensive coverage on the understanding and practical guidance as well as the theoretical aspects of first aid and the public based on the concept of prevention .It is important that individuals know Basic First Aid and CPR to become a certified First Aide to use the knowledge in giving assistance, saving the lives of victims and disseminate the knowledge to the community.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
It helps the community to gain access to First Aid knowledge and health care. Knowledgeable in the workings of the human body and are able to take better care of it. Know the causes of minor illness and ways to treat them. Create a caring society, willing to help fellowmen in times of needs.

o Principles of First Aid - Including legal ramifications
o Infections Diseases and Hygiene - Infection control in first aid
o Basic Human Anatomy - Including functions of the body
o Examination of a Casualty - Conscious and unconscious casualties
o The Unconscious Casualty - Management stable side position
o Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - Including Expired air resuscitation
o Airways Obstructions - Drowning, choking, smoke inhalation
o Bleeding - External wounds and internal bleeding
o Shock - Recognition and treatment.
o Burns - Types and treatment
o Fractures and Soft Tissue injuries - Types and Treatment, concussion
o Head Injuries - Types and Treatment
o Eye and Ear injuries - Type and Treatment
o Chest and Pelvic Injuries - Types and Treatment
o Common Medical Emergencies - Diabetes, epilepsy, Stroke, Asthma
o Heart Conditions - Types, recognition and treatment
o Environment Exposure - Effects of Heat and cold
o Poison, bites and stings - Emphasis on industrial poison and allergies

Quality and consistency of the training are the most important factors in assuring high quality of instructions. MIFFA trainers are fully qualified in respective training fields, and have extensive experiences in their relevant areas.
MIFFA will make available our most experience and competent trainers. An assistant trainer will assist in the course where necessary. It should be noted that MIFFA reserves the right to replace the assigned trainer with other equally competent trainer depending on their availability.
