Founded in 1796, The University of Strathclyde is the second-oldest university in Glasgow, and the third largest University in Scotland. The Strathclyde Business School (SBS) is 1 of only 66 business schools worldwide, and the only Scottish one with full international accreditations (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB) recognized in UK, Europe and USA.
Strathclyde Business School is one of the oldest, largest and most respected Business Schools in the UK, consistently ranked in the top 10 Business Schools in the UK in terms of both research and teaching quality, and known for its innovation in business & management education.
SBS was ranked 1st in Scotland and in the Top 100 in the world (Global MBA Ranking, Financial Times, 2017). We also ranked 5th in the world for Corporate Strategy (Global MBA Ranking, Financial Times, 2016), 4th in the world for value for money, & 7th in the world for Employment Category.
Strathclyde was the first UK Business School to offer a:
- One year Full-time MBA programme (1966)
- ‘Part-time’ MBA programme in the UK (1976)
- ‘Flexible Learning’ MBA in the UK (1983)
- ‘Part-time’ MBA programmes in International Centres (launched in S.E. Asia in 1988)

The Strathclyde MBA is based on collaborative learning – students share work experience, knowledge, understanding and skills.
While the Strathclyde MBA draws on a number of specialist areas, we do not aim to train specialists. Rather, our purpose is to develop you in diverse areas of management.
The MBA will shape and guide you as reflective, open-thinking, adaptive learners. This is facilitated through enhanced understanding of the interplay of theory and practice in management.
